Many of these fruits–namely apples–contain malic acid–a chemical that helps to remove surface stains from teeth. This is the same chemical that is contained in many commercial teeth whitening products. While by no means a comprehensive whitening solution, eating more of these types of foods can give your teeth a quick scrub and remove some stains when brushing isn’t possible.
